I gotta say, I think the best scene of Speirs is of him and Lipton in the church, talking about how the men don't care about the rumors about Spiers and they are just glad to have a good leader again, and Speirs corrects Lipton, in saying they always had a good leader, in Lipton, and matter of factly informing him, that because of that leadership he gave to the men, was why he was being put in for a battlefield commission to be an officer.
